Vintage Clothing Summer Trends — Vintage Wholesale Company

As with every season, a new set of vintage clothing summer trends have risen that have been largely influenced by high-end brands and social media. This Summer is no different with a collection of trends and micro-trends setting the scene.

Y2K Inspired Clothing

Being carried through from Autumn/Winter 2021 and Spring 2022 is the Y2K trend. As a UK vintage wholesale supplier, this trend is right up our street.

What makes the Summer Y2K trend different from other seasons is the resurrection of halter neck tops and dresses, and bold, striking patterns. Brought through from previous Y2K seasons is the regained popularity of low-rise jeans and shorts, to the dismay of some, beautiful satin fabrics, and graphic tees.

Experimenting With Colour and Texture

This season, many brands are experimenting with colour and texture. The days of monochromatic looks are officially gone, and have been replaced with bright, bold colours and a range of fabrics — particularly crochet and knit.

Unlike last season, which focused heavily on pastels, orange, pink, yellow, and lime green are proving popular.

Lots of Layering

On first appearance, this trend is not very summer appropriate but layering is on the rise this summer. Not just any layering, however, but using items of clothing in the ‘wrong’ order and purpose — wearing long vests as dresses over tops, turning tights into coverups, to name a few.

Not layering as such, but particularly in men’s fashion, cargo pants are resurfacing paired with long-line tees, for definition, and birkenstock-style sandals.
